L. V. Overseas offers PTFE or TFE (polytetra-fluoroethylene), a very dense material having a density of 2.13 – 2.19 grams/cc. PTFE is well known for its chemical resistance. It is insoluble in all organics with the exception of a few exotics. Electrical properties are excellent. Impact strength is high but its resistance to wear, tensile strength and creep resistance are low in comparison to other engineering materials.

Due to its characteristics, PTFE can be used to contain highly aggressive chemicals as a gasket, lining or bushing. The material can also be used as a slide plate or bearing in low friction applications and is suitable for use as an electrical insulator. If you are seeking to bond PTFE sheet with an adhesive, we can supply a chemically etched option that will adhere to materials such as metals, rubbers and other plastics.
