Beryllium Copper Round Bar is made up of a material composition with 98.1% copper, aluminum, 2% beryllium, cobalt and silicon in it. UNS C17200 beryllium copper alloys are ductile and produced in mill hardened and heat treatable tempers. These alloys are used for all applications, which require high strength, stiffness and good conductivity. The tensile strength of C17200 copper is over 1380 MPa (200 ksi). In its age hardened condition C17200 attains the highest strength and hardness of any commercial copper based alloy. The ultimate tensile strength can exceed 200 ksi and the hardness approaches Rockwell C45. This alloy is used in bearings and pivoting members for aircraft landing gear, bushings and washers for tri-cone drilling bits, pressure housings for magnetometers and other instruments, as well as resistance welding applications.
